2026 Trustee Election

Filing for the May 2026 Graham ISD Board of Trustees election begins on January 14, 2026, and ends at 5 p.m. on February 13, 2026. Although Graham ISD is closed on Friday, February 13 according to the adopted school calendar, the Administration building will remain open until 5 p.m. on Friday, February 13 to accept candidate applications. The May election will decide two places on the Graham ISD School Board - Place 6 and Place 7. Both seats are for three-year terms beginning in May 2026 and ending in May 2029.     • Last Day to Register to Vote - Thursday, April 2, 2026
    • Early Voting - Monday, April 20, Wednesday, April 22-April 28 (There will be no voting on Tuesday, April 21 due to San Jacinto Day) 
    • Election Day Voting - Saturday, May 2, 2026
  • The May 2, 2026 election will determine Places 6 and 7 on the Graham ISD Board of Trustees.

    Once applications are filed during the application period (Jan. 14-Feb. 13), the candidates’ names will appear below in the appropriate place and in the order in which they file. Once the official drawing for placement on the ballot occurs, candidates will be rearranged and listed in the order in which they will appear on the May ballot.

  • Voters Re-Elect Graham ISD School Board Incumbents: May 2025

    Three candidates received voter-approval during the May 3 election for Graham ISD School Board. A total of 727 Graham voters cast a ballot in our county for Graham ISD. There were 16 mail-in ballots, 504 votes cast during the early voting period and 207 votes cast on election day. 

    Incumbents Lauren Mahaney, Chris Blanton and Jason D. Smith all won re-election. They will serve three-year terms until May 2028.

    Unofficial results include:

    • Place 3: Lauren Mahaney (388 total votes) defeated challenger Ellen Morris (337 total votes)
    • Place 4: Chris Blanton (597 total votes) ran unopposed.
    • Place 5: Jason D. Smith (616 total votes) ran unopposed.

    The GISD School Board will canvas election results during their regular May 14 meeting. Mahaney, Blanton and Smith will be sworn in on that same night, and the Board will vote to reorganize to determine officer positions for the 2025-2026 school year.
