Graham ISD Appoints Lauren Holland as Pioneer Assistant Principal

Posted Date: 9/18/25 (4:00 PM)

Graham ISD is pleased to announce the appointment of Lauren Holland as the Assistant Principal at Pioneer Elementary.

Pioneer counselor Jenny Chapman was recently promoted to 9-10 Counselor at Graham High School. We posted a flexible vacancy at Pioneer to hire either a counselor or an assistant principal, and are pleased to announce that Lauren Holland will be the new Assistant Principal at Pioneer Elementary. She has been serving GISD as Elementary Curriculum Coordinator. A transition plan is in place for both employees as we ensure campus and curriculum needs are met over the next few weeks. We will be posting the Curriculum Coordinator vacant position soon.

“Lauren's passion for education shines through in everything she does,” Superintendent Dr. Mary Johnston said. “She brings a wealth of experience to this leadership position, and we are pleased to welcome Lauren to the Campus Administrator team in Graham ISD.”

Lauren Holland began her teaching career as a 4th grade math and science teacher in HEB ISD, then moved to Keller ISD where she taught 2nd grade. There, she quickly became the lead teacher, contributing to her school’s Continuous Improvement initiatives and training first and second-grade teachers in guided reading. After nine years in Keller, Lauren relocated to Graham, where she initially served as a 4th and 5th grade special education inclusion teacher, earning the title of Teacher of the Year in 2020. Lauren earned her master’s degree in educational leadership from Lamar University in 2022. In Graham ISD, she served as the Elementary Education Curriculum Coordinator for five years where she was dedicated to collaborating with teachers to support all students’ needs.

A graduate of Texas Christian University, she earned her Early Education degree in just three years while also cheering for the university. After college, Lauren coached competitive cheer and dance for two years before moving into the classroom as a teacher. Lauren has been married to her husband, Chris, for 19 years. They have two children: a sophomore at GHS and a second grader at Crestview Elementary.
